Fun in the snow in November
Vancouver and surrounding areas have been hit with the craziest november snow storm on record. Over the weekend, the city is littered with car accidents because of the terrible driving condition thanks to the weather. We escaped all this because we decided to drive up to Whistler on saturday night in anticipation for a day in the snow on sunday. The snow condition in Whistler was amazing. The snow was powdery, and in abundance. The village was cold enough to have snow accumulation, and we were able to ski/snowboard all the way to the bottom. It was a great mini break, despite the very cold weather.
We returned to the city sunday night. Vancouver has many steep streets. Tonight by our apartment building, Paul saw a car honking all the way down the street as the driver tried to regain control of the car while it was swerving through an intersection uncontrollably, due to the snow.
Our journey started with crossing the Lion's Gate bridge. I was told it was designed by Golden Gate Bridge's architect. Yep, there are some similarities...
Anyone notice the snow covered local mountains behind the bridge? Paul certainly did. He was grinning from ear to ear, and I had to constantly remind him to watch the road since he was driving.
Mr Snowman kept us company during our trip, until the end when we devoured his head. Sorry...
The roadside was covered in snow during the complete duration of our trip. It's amazing since we started at sea level. And remember that we are only in November!
I got to pose with a big pile of snow at the Whistler village while my fingers were freezing up.
We are in Winter wonderland (a.k.a Whistler village)!
Happily strolling through snow covered street in the village after a nice dinner.
Paul warming up with a nice cup of hot chocolate, the whip cream got the better of him.
We returned to Vancouver to find my poor California car covered in some unknown foreign matter.
We are not in California anymore!!
The sloped street where Paul witnessed out of control car. He saw this from our parking lot.
View from the balcony of our apartment. Are we in Vancouver or Toronto? Funny Mom told me that it was quite warm in Toronto over the weekend.
